Public Service News Release At the Fall 2007 Membership Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Flower Mound Library, Jeff Whittaker was elected to serve as Treasurer. In this capacity Jeff will be responsible for recording revenues and expenses of the organization in addition to creating and filing all state and federal tax returns. The Friends of the Flower Mound Library raise funds to support childrens reading programs, buy new books and support special programs for the public library. In late 2008 R. Jeffrey Whittaker was named to the Board of Governors of the new Flower Mound Presbyterian Hospital to be constructed and open in 2010. The hospital will be the centerpiece of the new Riverwalk development in central Flower Mound. In January 2009 Jeff Whittaker was re-appointed by the Flower Mound Town Council to serve on the Board of the Flower Mound Community Development Corporation. This Corporation is responsible for finding appropriate opportunities to invest in the Parks of the Town using the sales tax revenue generated by a specific local sales tax levy. At the first meeting held January 14, 2009 Jeff was re-elected to the position of Treasurer of the Corporation. |
